Sliding Doors Screens

Fiberglass screen cloth is the most common screen cloth used for sliding patio doors. It is easy to replace, it is not expensive, and it is long lasting.

The cloth is made of fiberglass that is dipped in a vinyl coating to increase its weather resistant and durability. Usually, the coating is black or grey.

With time, and with sun radiation, the screen coating material wears off, and the white strands of the fiberglass are exposed.

Types of Screens:

1. Storm Door Screen - Better to use aluminum cloth in a storm door.

2. Pet Proof Screens - Made from vinyl coated polyester. It is about 7 times stronger than traditional screen.

3. Solar Screening - Made of thicker strands that blocks out from 65% to 99% of the suns UV rays and heat.

There are also screen cloths that allow 15% to 30% more light to come in, screens that allow 10% to 20% more airflow than traditional screen, and there is an insect screens, screens that are designed to keep out even the smallest bugs.

Last, but not least, there is the stainless steel mesh sliding door screens that provide high security (it cannot be cut with a utility knife nor will it break with hummer or baseball bat).
